This event will have one division, Pro. You will complete one main piece and
three 90 minute quick carve pieces over the 3 days. Saturday evening there will
be an auction for the Friday and Saturday quick carves. On Sunday afternoon
there will be an auction for Sunday’s quick carve and the main pieces. The
carvers will receive 50% of the proceeds on their pieces. The balance of the
proceeds, after expenses, will go to the Children’s Miracle Network. For more

Winners will be determined by auction total. Carvers are allowed to bid on
their own piece, but will be disqualified from that competition if he/she buys
their own piece.

The above prizes are the cash amounts totaling $5,000.00. Additional prizes
will be added as we get closer to the date.
We are in the process of searching for hotel discounts, so lodging
information will be provided at a later date. Food coupons will be included in
the carver’s packet for meals during the event.
We will be using the Lottery system for log selection. Logs will be separated
into main piece logs and quick carve logs and will be numbered. The lottery will
begin Thursday at noon. As competitors show up they draw a number. The log that
matches your number is yours. At 6:00 pm Thursday night, the logs not taken in
the lottery are up for a first come first serve grab. If you don’t like the log
you drew, hold out having it moved until after 6:00 pm. You may trade logs with
another carver at anytime.
COMPETITION RULES
• The theme is “Missouri Outdoors”
• This event is limited to 30 Chainsaw Carvers
• All carvers must compete in all events.
• Only one piece may be entered for the Main Event piece and it must be done
with the one main event log you receive and
is limited to 10% add on material. Scenes or furniture made of
multiple pieces will be considered one entry.
• The quick carves are 90 minutes each. Additional wood will be available if you
can complete more than one piece during
the time allotted.
• There is a limit of 2 slabs per competition. Woodmizer will be here to cut the
slabs for us.
• This is a full power competition (angle grinders, die grinders, paint, stain,
etc. are all allowed)
• You will need to provide your own tent. We’ll provide the netting.
• Electricity will be provided. Please bring your own extension cord.
• Participants are required to wear protective gear, including safety chaps, eye
protection, ear protection and boots.
• You must be finished carving for the day and have all tools put away before
consuming alcoholic beverages.
• You will have space in front of your tent to display and sell carvings.
• No vehicles will be allowed in the carving area except for loading and
unloading before or after hours. We might have
space for a trailer behind your area so please let us know if you
plan on bringing one and the size.
• Overnight security will be provided for the event.
• Winners will be determined by auction total. Carvers are allowed to bid on
their own piece, but will be disqualified from
that competition if he/she buys their own piece.
